Broadcasting on 99.3 FM, KJBU, and streaming on rhythmofthecoast.com, our mission as a Community Based Radio Initiative (CBRI) is to participate in and reflect the diversity of our com- munity by presenting an educational broadcast program service for meeting the specific needs of the historically underserved African American resi- dents in Oxnard, Ventura County, and on the Central Coast.
Our program- ming addresses the educational, infor- mational, cultural, economic advance- ment, and entertainment needs which have been neglected by commercial broadcasters. Our content is produced to provide uplifting programming that focuses on the relevant, critical issues affecting the economic, education, well- ness, and legal well-being of the African American community, particularly the emerging genera- tion (young men and women), an ever increasing number of whom are at-risk due to their socio- economic realities.
